Rote:
Rote looks at the minutiae of the routine
gestures and movements we make that are often overlooked. It offers the viewer time to ponder daily happenings from the insignificant to the more abstract. Time passes and the notion of being in the moment is illusive.
The two distinct sides of the book allow
the viewer a choice to engage with the undefined content or to venture into the specific of the everyday, depending on which side they open first. The folded form of the pages demands that the viewer perform the movements of holding, lifting, turning, opening,
closing, looking etc. In engaging with the book the viewer becomes aware of their actions.
