Portfolio > The other end of the telescope

My recent work is focused on environments or spaces we do not always see or acknowledge. Around us are things at both the macroscopic or microscopic level that function often without our awareness. This fascination with scale is explored through this series of works. The works are all circular to evoke either the lens of the telescope or that of the microscope. The images may look like planetary surfaces or writhing bacteria in a petri dish.

Exploring the unseen and re-contextualizing these images is the primary focus of this work. The viewer may focus on a small portion and much like in the everyday miss the larger element or conversely miss the small detail when experiencing the whole.
